Here's my favorite Bike pic,
the guy with the smile is my Dad.
He says "It was a looonnng time ago.
He would have paid the $3.00 at first sight if
he'd had money with him
&
when he got home it was too late to go back.
So to get this bike he had to pick it up before school, take it home & then get to school again.  A big chore since he couldn't ride it.
It was his first bike, no fenders, no pedals,
just a bolt on one side & a stick in the other side.
The tires were only called tires because
they were round & had once had treads.
But as he could he got pedals, tires & then fender's.
He said he couldn't wait to get chrome ones, so black & white had to do.
I wouldn't trade this pic of him & his bike for all the world.
I have new bike, A couple of prewar Colson made Western Flyers,
Tandems, & a sweet little Fairlady 20". Pedal cars too, no repro crap though.
